1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair
Milan Young 10 - 13 Oct 2024 GJG will be showcasing the works of Milan Young at our booth at 1-54 Contemporary African Art fair this week. Young is an emerging African-American artist whose dynamic and introspective work is gaining significant recognition in the contemporary art world. Her latest solo exhibtion, 'Third Stone from the Sun', takes inspiration from the Jimi Hendrix song of the same name. Just as Hendrix reflects on his place in the universe, Young uses this platform to reflect on her own life, particularly the challenges she faced during her recent recovery. This exhibition marks Young's first appearance at the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair. Read more -

Baker and Johnson investigate specific myths and use them as a jumping-off point for the exploration of the very concept of change.
While the two artists differ in their conceptual and aesthetic approach to the theme, both assign particular importance to the parallelism between humans and nature when it comes to transformation. Read more -
