Alice Herbst was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1993. Despite relocating frequently during her childhood, she eventually returned to Stockholm, where she pursued her studies at the Stockholm School of Art and later graduated from Gerlesborg School of Fine Art in 2017. The artist has exhibited in Sweden and internationally, garnering recognition for her distinctive approach to figurative oil painting.
Herbst's artworks seamlessly blend abstract elements with realism, creating unique fusion that captivates viewers. By exploring the interplay between reality and imagination, Herbst delves into themes of identity, self-acceptance, and the profound influence of one's environment. She beckons us to question the notion of a linear timeline, and instead, to embrace a kaleidoscopic tapestry of existence where echoes of past eras intertwine with our contemporary lives, enriching our understanding of the self and the shared tapestry of humanity. Inspired by personal memories and a fascination with the unfamiliar, she weaves narratives that continue to evolve and unfold with each brushstroke. Herbst resides and works in Stockholm, continuously pushing boundaries and challenging conventional notions in the art world.
