‘Lemon Popsicles in Eilat’ portrays the artist’s friend and her relatives escaping the summer heat but not each other. Placing Israeli masculinity and its positioning within the traditional family hierarchy at the heart of her painting, Ironic depicted many Israeli domestic scenes over the past year. “Family is a very high priority in Israeli culture, most of us come from big close families, starting one of your own is a must, no questions asked. Hence this work is a very common scene you can see, everyone huddled up in-front of the television.” (Noa Ironic)
For Ironic, finding the beauty of the common, ordinary moments in life is important both on a personal and artistic level, a factor that's reflected in her work and that allows the viewer to easily relate to her imagery.
